2026 Chemo "Sunshine Sacks"
Katelyn is turning 9 this year and is proud to share that her Birthday Project will be to bring a little sunshine to cancer patients in Door County! Katelyn will be putting together what she calls "Sunshine Sacks" which are bags that will be filed with uplifting goodies like fuzzy socks, puzzles, a Smiley stress ball, lotion, activity books, chapstick, and more!
Katelyn designed the bags, graciously donated by Tools of Marketing in Saukville, Wisconsin, and planned this project in honor of several family members who have battled cancer including her mpm, grandma Kathy, great-aunt Joyce, great-grandpa Jim, and late grandpa Richard. Her goal is that the sacks bring joy to those who have cancer and are undergoing chemo and chose the bright yellow color
specifically to depict hope and sunshine!
Her goal is to make 25 kits to distribute to the Door County Cancer Center following her birthday party in March. In lieu of gifts for herself, she will kindly request supplies for these bags. Along with personally delivering these bags to the hospital, Katelyn will be making a donation to Door CANcer Inc. to help support their mission of assisting those who are facing hardships during treatment.
A special THANK YOU to the following businesses who have helped to make this wonderfully-bright project possible!
